ESSAY ONE OF I DON'T KNOW

Here is the bare minimum you holy/demonic/sixth sense need to know about Kira Pings.

Kira can basically ping on a NUMBER OF DIFFERENT LEVELS because Yuki Kaori just LOVES THIS IDENTITY CRISIS STUFF. I'll address each in turn!

Kira Sakuya has two souls in one body- The first of these souls is the original owner, a seven year old boy named Kira Sakuya who should have died eleven years ago but didn't because a wandering evil spirit made a pact with him. This evil spirit is the Kira Sakuya you will be talking to and interacting with 99.9% of the time. Little!Sakuya is in there and can communicate with Big!Sakuya, and probably with YOU if you have those abilities, but he's not going to ever come out unless you specifically ask him too, and probably not even then. He mostly sleeps.

The Evil Spirit is a Sword- The Wandering Evil Spirit is actually that of a soul which was trapped into a crazy powerful sword called Nanatsusaya. Kira WILL respond to the name Nanatsusaya, but he prefers not to be called that. Typically, the name Kira = human body and the name Nanatsusaya = sword body. However, the sword (which is carried by Setsuna) has crazy unholy power in it, and a bloodlust which has driven all of its previous owners crazy.

The Sword is usually within a Blood Red Crystal which Houses and Controls the Evil Spirit's Soul- Setsuna typically has this crystal around his neck. If broken, Evil Spirit dies! The Sword appears from the crystal. Shouldn't give off the same aura Nanatsusaya does, but if you're sensative to those type of things it might ping you.

The Evil Spirit is Actually Lucifer- Yes that Lucifer. This... is not as obvious as you'd think. I would expect the Omnipotent Beings Of Camp to pick up on this, but not much else. In his own canon, the only person to SENSE Lucifer is Michael and Nanatsusaya. Demons recognize him but they do it by sight (There's a big old carving of him at the bottom of hell). Denizens of hell can't even sense him by 'feeling' because he lacks a living presense. Angels from his canon also seem to recognize him by sight.

Additionally, Nanatsusaya merely houses Lucifer's soul, where it was trapped some eons and eons ago. So while TECHNICALLY it's the same person who you know, killed a bazillion angels and such, he doesn't remember all that. He DOES have human emotions, human interests and is far more intent on protecting Setsuna than on killing God or steering you down the path of evil or whatever.

Kira has a spot of angel blood on his chest- WHAT IT SAYS. this is the blood of the inorganic angel Rociel. When denizens of hell look for it they can sense it. This blood used to make Kira immortal, even if you cut him into a million pieces he would reform. It doesn't work anymore though and he's basically as mortal as you would expect a mortal body to be.

There you go! WHICH of these ping you, if any, are up to you. It's not a HUGE SECRET so I have little opinion on what route you go. If you call Kira Lucifer he's just going to tell you to cut that shit out. But he is aware of who he is and what that represents to most people. He just. Doesn't care. He wants to be Kira Sakuya right now.

But! I do request you tell me which of these will ping you. AS A NOTE. I do really doubt that anyone without a REALLY GOOD REASON to recognize Lucifer's soul would be able to ping him. But they might be able to get fallen angel vibes, or just "this ain't no ordinary evil spirit" vibes. Anyway! Let me know ♥
